英特尔今日发布Core i7 990X旗舰版处理器，990X是英特尔的新旗舰桌面hexacore芯片，发烧友级别，面向LGA 1366平台，定价约为1050美元（很贵）。
该990X旗舰版未锁频，12MB的三级缓存，基于32纳米制造工艺制造，130瓦TDP功耗，时钟速度不变。虽然980X是3.33GHz主频（最高3.6GHz），新990X拥有更高主频3.46GHz（最高3.6GHz）。
现在980X的零售价是比990X少50美元，对于高端预算买家，更倾向于980X，或者等待着990X降价。
